Forks - Uprates / suggestions etc. Just wondered what fork alterations / upgrades anyone has made to the older Showa forks. I've just got a newer set of standard springs to replace my 10 year old ones (gotta be saggy by now) - frightened myself when I realised I'd have to take the sodding forks out AGAIN just to change the oil (suggestion on Volume / type etc for firmer ride) and then split the forks down to change the springs - Darn! So any suggestions on the above plus, Hyperpro damper changes - anyone tried 'em? Maxton etc? Cheers - Frank |
Personally I would go for Ohlins fork springs. But try phoning a few places including Maxton, along with K-tech, Harris Performance, Dave Parkinson (he did the ones on my race bike) or Try Baines racing, my mate got his 900SS from them and both front and rear suspension has been rebuilt using WP internals. |
had ohlins springs fitted to my 99 ss am well pleased with them they give me so much more confidence in the front end. |
Sounds a good idea to have ohlins internals. Andy, did you have that done recently?? If so how much was it and where did you have it done?? Soz for all the questions mate. Cheers |
