My early Xmas present-AHHHHHH!!! 3 months ago i broke my elbow playing squash.Went to play a nice backhand shot and the joint just decided to break!!So,i went in on the 14 September to have it fixed.2 months later it was still not right. The surgeons in their ultimate wisdon had decided to leave some of the broken bits in the joint stating"don't worry they won't affect it,physio will sort it out!!" So, i did 8 weeks of excrutiating physio, followed by an x-ray,ct scan and then guess what? Yep,the bones are jamming the joint up,trapping all the nerves and we'll just open it up again. But not in the same place.Oh no,lets make your elbow look like a patchwork!! So,for you enjoyment,1 week after surgery,i give you the joy of my elbow(you can just see the previous scar!): Lower |
upper |
And who said trackdays were dangerous?? |
Bugger.... squash a viscious game, hope it's sorted now |
Bugger! That doesn't look like much fun! Did they tell you why the elbow just 'let go' like that? Ligaments not tight enough? |
TP,i dislocated it 20 years ago in a bike smash and basically arthritis has been eating into it until the bone has cried enough(christ i'm only 39!!) and shattered. |

Don't be daft boy, I smashed my ankle to hell and gone 40(god is it REALLY that long!!) ago-basically they wanted to 'tidy it up' by amputating my foot. Anyway my old man wouldn't let them (thank's dad) so I still have a foot and no problems with it-my left wrist and thumb however are another story-and I only did thast 5 1/2 years ago........... :o John |
