S4 Clutch Problem

Just got myself an Andodised Presure plate. Only thing is now its fitted the clutch lever is solid and the plate is not pushing back on the clutch plates. Could the original push rod be too long?

Check to see if the mark on the plate is lined up with the slotted post and that the teeth on the inside face of the plate mesh with the ones on the drum.
