ftp site question Hello, Just out of intrest is there anyway of allocating part of my ftp site to make accessable to all, I have bought some web space for a home page, but for now would like to store images anybody can access in a folder, regards TopiToo |
Yes you will need to create a folder that you can password protect or not and then share the link |
please be aware at the loopholes in FTP before doing this. Speak to your ISP and ensure they are running some sort of SFTP(SecureFTP). With basic FTP you have two levels of access, password sent in clear text ... BAD... or Anonymous .... obviously also BAD... you often get people saying 'use your email address as password. This gives some form of security in their eyes, however i can put anything in there i like long as it has an @ symbol in there. FTP is the least secure protocol in the world and you could quite simply find yourself hosting a LOT of things you REALLY don't want to be hosting. |
Hello Thanks for the information, I see I need to look into this a little further. But as a test here is me filming the UlsterGP hope the link works. http://www.topitoo.com/Public/Uslter%20GP.wmv regards Topitoo [Edited on 15-07-1968 by TopiToo] |
