new owner!

well, i will be by the end of next week!!

Ive bought a 750ss 1993 model. does anyone know if its a carb or injection model (im very new to dukes). it has twin disks if that helps...
also, what do I need to look for when I go to pick it up?

also, ive just won some ducati performance cans and a chip on ebay for £90, a good price i think, but its for a 900ss. are the cans and chip able to fit to 750? If not, ill just sell them on. I can probably fabricate the cans to fit though...

thanks

paul

I would say that if your 750 was fuel injected it would need a different chip to the 900:(

Oh a few of us will be at LLandow in June check out trackday thread.

93 750ss has no chip as its a carbed bike, Pipes may fit, or will be persuaded to fit.

Re-sell the pipes and chip as a set to someone with a later injected machine.

Use the proceeds to buy the right pipes for your bike. Lots out there.

Welcome Paul - another ss owner is always good to see.

Your 750 has carbs and does not need the Chip in any way, shape or form.

As has been said - the cans, can be made to fit but you might well better off selling them on as a set.
Actually, just saw the price - £90 is good and I've been surprised how much standard cans are going for on Ebay.
If you want to make the cans 'hi-level' - you might have to do away with the pillion footrests.

I noticed the front mudguard looks unusual or are your calipers painted red?

Nice clean looking bike - have fun.

Cheers - Frank

ps - Loads of SS info in here - WELL WORTH THE JOINING FEE :D:D:D

It looks like I have 2 disks on the front but only 1 caliper??
whats that all aboot?
It looks like the front mudguard has the extra bit behind the fork leg, but I cant see a caliper there??

anyone got any ideas??

Chief R.B. 19-Dec-2005 11:21

Is that a cover over the caliper mounting behind the fork leg? I'm sure that should have a caliper there if its got a disc...

I'd ask a few questions before you take the bike, or check if the brake hose has been replaced as it should have a split to the other caliper just above the mudgaurd (i think...i have an 03 model but as far as i know its the same).

Looks like a clean bike tho

Good luck mate

:D

suppose what I need to know really is should it have twin disks? The guy is nice enough and its a private sale, but can I just take the disk off and use a single disk set up if it is missing the right hand caliper?
