Exhaust: questions again... Hi everybody, First of all, happy new year to all of you. I wish you a safe riding (racing) year and really look forward to meet you again. We got back in the UK today around noon, and believe it or not, I'm quite happy to be here :) I've bought in France a 600SS exhaust to fit on my DD Monster. The pipes seem to fit well, but the rear one is in contact with the swinging arm, near the shock low mounting point. Is that a problem? Do I need to buy the washers which go between the pipes and the barrels or they're useless for a race use? Last thing: I need a kind of adapter to fit the DP can on the the standard SS exhaust. Something like this: ![]() Any DSCer able to do that? If so thanks for letting me know a price by U2U. Cheers, Tonio. |
MHP should be able to sort one of them out, maybe AK can ask on your behalf |
Welcome Back - and happy new year to you both too :) |
welcome back Tonio - and a happy New year:D do give Mark a call (MHP) - he already has 2 DD bikes in at the mo, with another 3 going there over the next month, all for zaust stuff - or email him (will u2u) say Alan & Charlotte said to call C:cool: |
I just noticed no-one replied to your question about the exhaust touching the swingarm ... it is something you will 'get away with' if it is only a 'touch', but you really dont want them to touch at all. When you are racing everything happens with a lot more force than in the workshop :saint: and things that hit each other will break. Maybe not straight away, but they will. |
Cheers Phil. Actually I guessed that wouldn't be a good idea to leave the pipe and the arm working in such condition, so I will fit my standard Monster exhaust headers, problem sorted :) And the SS one is for sale... |
