Selling up and moving

Well, after much soul searching we've decided it's time to move and find a new home closer to work.

This morning I have an estate agent coming back for the 3rd time to sign on the dotted line etc. Just wondered if anybody had and advice/experience of anything else we can do to help - is it worth advertising privately as well (on the internet, in the local rag etc), or is it best left to the professionals?

Or if anyone knows anyone who wants a large warehouse conversion in Northampton... ;)

Cheers
Martin

Urban,

Best advice is keep the pressure on the estate agents.

I hope you haggled a decent deal on your selling fees and did not just accept what they offered???

They are fairly quiet this time of year and will happily fight for your business. Do not sign until you have shaved at least 0.5 off their fees and really push the boat out and try for cut price advertising and free schedules.

The cash you save you can then use to do your own advertising or fliers as well!!!

Good luck with the sale.

People looking at this time of year tend to be more serious buyers, as the "Out for a drive on a weekend" brigade are not out in force yet.

Regards

Find a disgarded for sale sign. paint it, put your number on it and put it up outside you house.......my mate did that and sold within a week..............worth a shot, and no fees!
