Rear swing arm suggestions

Whilst I was in a state of depression over Christmas cos my bike had broke, I suffered from a moment of insanity and bought a spare swing arm off ebay (you never know when a spare one might come in handy do you?). My bikes a red 2003 749 and I sort of thought I might polish the swing arm up and make it all shiny and nice, or maybe smooth it off a bit and paint it satin black similar to the newer models. But now I've got it I'm not really sure what would look best. Has anyone done anything nice to their swing arm? Or any thoughts what else could work?
Thoughts appreciated please(and any piccies if poss)
Thanks
Chris

sorry mate..............waste of money. should put it towards a new shape one...for looks, or not bothered as itll make no difference to performance.

Not as straight forward as just fitting a new style swing arm. You may need the linkage etc.

I did my 2003 grey cast arm in gloss black and painted the wheels red .... a good look in my opinion.

Yes i know that there are other parts required to make the transition..........its just under a grand for the job!

Stick the one off the rd 125 in the bin and get the proper thing :D

To change to the later swing arm one of the things you need to change at the same time is the rocker. I dont believe that Ducati would of made a completely new rocker for the later models.............in time honoured fashion i recon its from another duke......problem is which one?

Well....ive been through the parts manuals looking at the rockers, for st and monster= same rocker, 999(03) and 998= same rocker....and the 2005 later swing arm......:( appears unique! ho hum......:(

Not for the upgrade, you just get a template to hack the faring a little:o Its just the standard 04 on arm that takes a lot of messing, last i spoke to charlie at Leeds they had one in stock ;)
