service tip please
 

I have a 916 sps and have covered 1,900 miles since full service including belts, by main dealer, last march. I change the oil/filter every 1000 miles [old habit] and have asked several people what they think is required for 2006 it has been in the workshop since they put the salt down and wont come out till its gone,i use the other bike during the winter months. i doubt weather it will cover 1000 miles, if that, before i take it to Spain[back of van] for my hols in July, roads to die for and no traffic. The U.K. in my opinion is now absolute crap and a waste of time owning a sports bike...me thinks new belts to be on the safe side but people tell me all sorts from there on... your opinion to totaly confuse me please ...thanks Steve.. :puzzled:

I personally wouldn't do anything to it for another 12 months. Just get out and ride it!

maybe spark plugs changed just to be on the safe side

I thought the recommended belt change was every 6000 miles or 12 months.
If the bikes been sitting for a while I'd change the belts for peace of mind.

"Recommended" is 6000miles and 24 months.....

Is that 1,900 or 19,000 miles?
If the former and it had a belt change last March then I would do nothing but the regular oil/filter and air filter changes.

Get out and ride it!!
