Bling on the ST4

I have spent much of today hiding in the garage cleaning the bike and fitting some luvverly carbon fibre. I was hiding away as we had a house full of small children enjoying my daughters 7th birthday.

With some help from a mate and Mr Dremmel, I fitted the new rear hugger from Sandbar and Mk7 Scott Oiler, cant wait to test them next weekend.

Has anyone fitted a carbon fibre timing belt cover ?

Thought about it, but there's not much point on an ST because it's almost completely covered by the fairing

I've got one..... :P
Jools, they look great peeping out at you... much better than that grey one they fit as standard.......
Also the 4v ones are a fair bit larger so show up better.:D

surely better to spend money on carbon air ducts, at least you can see all of them

Rushjob 16-Jan-2006 20:52

It all depends on the price... when you get genuine Ducati carbon cambelt covers for £29 including postage you don't exactly say no, do you??

YMFB 16-Jan-2006 21:11

so where do you get carbon cambelt covers & fairing air ducts and anyone got any pics. Thirsty for CF

John W 17-Jan-2006 10:34

Er, there are no such things as carbon air ducts on an ST !
The air inlet comes through the centre of the fairing and the only bit of the air box you can see is if you lift the tank up...

Your better bet would be to fit a DP airfilter & cut away airbox cover. Boy does it make the bike sound loud when riding it - I have to wear ear plugs else it sound like your going to be sucked down the throttle trumpets !!

If you fit carbon belt covers, keep a check on the mounting bolts as they have a habit of vibrating loose...

Rushjob 17-Jan-2006 11:06

They are referred to as side panel air vents by the factory...
Carbon Vents...

okay, I follow now. I assumed you guys meant ducts as in air tubes like on the 916/996/998.

I'll crawl back into my hole. :)
