Good to see Ellison improve by 2 secs a lap. Hope he gets either the Yammy or D'Antin Ducati ride. He will be a future big star

There was me about to put some nice comment about the whinging spaniard yesterday and then he goes and does this.
Well he is still a whinger and when the chips are down Ducati will realise they made a mistake.
Loris is well tough, Sete is a pretty boy, nough said.

Ozz, he's got the yam ride d00d, where you been! Also, not had chance to copy the cd yet!

James Ellison, was ill on Monday.

In the race at Sepang last season, the fastest laps of the Yamaha guys were...

Rossi .....2:03.3
Edwards 2:04.1
Elias ......2:04.4
Xaus ......2:07.0

So Ellison's 2:04.2 looks pretty good don't it ;)

I'd assume that Ellison wouldn't have been out on qualifying tyres today, plus the day was stopped early for rain, so that could have caught a few out.

Qualifying for last year was...

Rossi .....2:02.4
Edwards 2:02.8
Elias ......2:03.3
Xaus ......2:04.0

So it looks like qualifying tyres are worth a second (unless you're Xaus)

I reckon Ellison has to be on Elias' pace, and he's quite good isn't he :D

Last of all, Ellison only saw Sepang for the first time at the 2005 race, as WCM never had the finances to test there pre season.

Oh yeah, and he's on DUNLOPS too!!!!

Just found this...

Quote:

2005 WCM rider James Ellison impressed on the first day of his Yamaha Tech 3 'job interview', by putting his Dunlop shod M1 within 1.3secs of MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi around the Sepang circuit in Malaysia.

After a slight delay due to morning rain, Ellison - who also recently tested a d'Antin Ducati - set a best lap time of 2min 5.1secs, which was within 0.63secs of the fastest race lap by former Tech 3 Yamaha rider Toni Elias during September's Malaysian Grand Prix.

So he's already a second faster than he was last month ;)

Mark 24-Jan-2006 15:37

I thought he had signed for tech 3 already?

Ozz 24-Jan-2006 20:52

Flanks, I thought this was his second test only????!!!!

HIs website goes on about how much he loved his Yamaha though...

deej 24-Jan-2006 23:16
