As from 2007 your new polycarbonate UK DRIVING LICENCE will be produced in Switzerland by a company called Trüb in the town of Aarau.

You know what that means: your driving licence is going to cost you more because DVLC will have to pay for the higher swiss production costs - you have been warned by your own Swiss correspondent first before the rest of the UK wakes up to the news.

According to a bloke down the pub you can get licence made locally!!

You mean that in a country populated by 60+million people and alledgedly the fourth most prosperous in the world, that we do not have the technology or ability to produce a little piece of plastic card with a photo on it?

And our politicians think we are capable of sorting out the problems in Iraq?
