I must be sad

Its January, cold, wet, the roads are covered in salt, loads of traffic and roadworks going into town but what a great day i had using the bike for work today.

Took the KTM 950 as i knew we'd be busy at work today, so the controller sent me out to do deliveries ( he must have wanted revenge).

What a great day riding the bike around, dodging thru traffic doing multi drops around town. Wet roads but it does wonders for throttle control, a crap wheelie or two, the odd dry line on roundabouts, and a dirt track on the way home just for fun.

SO much more fun than the car but roll on warm weather and twisty roads.

Can you still make a living as a despatch rider these days?

It used to be my dream job ( For the summer months of course )

Its bloody hard work, (and crap with British weather) but yes if you do it right and have the right attitude.

A lot of people don't approach it right, but i'm happy with my lot and i've got a few lads who've been with me for between 10 and 20 years, but an awfull lot have fallen by the wayside.

A lot of the guys have also gone into vans because its warmer! Current highest mileage on one bike is 357,000 miles but some of the older guys have done more in the past.

2 of the lads have both done over a million miles on bikes but sadly both moved on now.

:o:o

Makes my 2,000 miles per year seem pretty pathetic:)
