SS exhausts Quick question, would race cans bought for a 750SS fit on my 900 without probs? or would I be looking for a dynojet kit as well? ![]() |
Cans should fit no probs...depends on yer down tube arrgt? .....but you should get it rejetted anyway or you could end up with "burnt" pistons (mixture too lean) as well as rough running. It'll make the most of the better breathing (I presume you've swapped the air filter for a DP/K&N free-flow one?) and give you a few extra horses to boot! Then you just need a lighter flywheel and 2 extra teeth on yer rear sprocket and we wont see you for dust! :ninja: [Edited on 20-8-2003 by psychlist] |
exhausts don't forget your FE has high-level pipes like an SL. make sure any race can can cope with this. The 750SS will be a low slung pipe. |
Yep - the standard ss pipes are low slung as they also accomodate the pillion footrests as well. I have SL cans on SS and I can't believe how heavy they are compared to the Simmi (yes - I've never heard of them either) Carbon cans that the previous owner had fitted. One SL can easily weighs more than BOTH Carbon cans!!! Hee Hee - there again the Bimota BD4 that was at Rockingham had a bloody 2 into 1 fitted as std - and there is one for sale on E-bay USA :lol::lol: Sadly - no downpipes - but there are some bargins to be had. Wich model 750ss are we talking about? If its the carb model, then the answer is no.They do look very similar but the bend on the downpipes is differant. |
You can get new connectors made or a full stainless set of headers made up. I went to a plave called Technical Tubes near Wimborne in Dorset. Wasn't too expensive either. |
Attn Jim Flynn Jim, Would it be possible to take a look at the TT made headers at some point? I am trying to decide who I'll get to make a set of 45mm headers for my 888. I am just down the M27/A31 at Wimbourne. Thanks, Rob |
