Anybody know if???? (frames)
 

Guys

As you might have guessed i`am having a few frame problems... ie i need a new one (easy option) or find the section of frame i need (from 748r) and fetch the grinder and welder out! :o

I have one option with a frame i know of but.. it`s an RS frame.

I would like to use the bike on the road so:
Did the RS frames come with a frame number?

If not can one be obtained from Ducati, be it UK or Italy direct?

Or simply is this not possible?

If so is it as simple as applying to DVLA for a V5?

And also would it recieve an applicable reg no for the year of manufacture of the frame?

As i said it`s only one option but thought i`d ask and see if anyone knew or if that option is out the window already!

My RS frame has a vin number but if you were applying for a logbook here you would need to have the bike inspected. Better option would be a new replacement frame from Ducati that should come without a frame number so that you can use your existing frame number
Best option is to talk nicely to Jim at Bike Enders
who currently has a y reg 2001 frame WLB & top yoke. At the moment he is trying to sell it along with the 748R engine, injectors, electrics and carbon airbox for £2200. I know because I asked about a 748R engine on behalf of a mate as a spare for his RS race bike.
So if the price is right he will probably sell Frame WLB and matching top yoke in a seperate deal.
