tank bag Help... has anyone fitted a tank bag to a 749 other than the heart shaped DP one? I've tried a few with no joy, they just wont attach securely. got about a month to find one. cheers |
I use to ride an RSV which had a plastic tank so bought Aprilia's own tank bag, has four tie down straps as well as a point for fixing to the headstock. Luckily when I got the 749 last year it fitted a treat it's expandable so holds a fair bit kit. I use the four straps to tie it down to the frame at front and rear of the tank. Hasn't got Ducati written on it but it's still Italian. |
yeh,get ready.i got me a magnitic one, works fine. |
Ventura. You know it makes sense! |
i've got a Oxford 1st Time Tank Bag magnetic base works well, bought it at the NEC for £15 although i've seen them for £19.99 on the infinty web site Mark |
I have the ventura kit but it's not enough space for the trip (camping gear as well). Pedro...what bag have you fitted? i'll check out the 'prillia one. don't care what it looks like as long as it'll fit. |
??? oxford 1st time...i think thats what my mate is using but couldn't get it to stick properly. I'll have another look |
Have you tried two ventura bags, zipping them together over the rack? |
i have 2 bags but still not enough, nearly a month long trip. Tent, sleeping bag, bike chain + cover fill the big bag. small bag isn't enough for clothes trainers, camera, cooking....everything else. nice pannier work! did they get a little hot? |
the big bag is huge but a sleeping bag takes up so much room. I've got a Hein Gericke mini tank bag, the magnets barely get round the fuel cap. Great for fags, phone etc but not big enough to hold a map |
