computer boffs I need help I'm trying to install my new anti virus software but when I go to do it it tells me that "a program has been detected that is incompatible blah blah" this program is called "eTrust EZ Antivirus" and I should be able to remove it through the add or remove programs function. yea no problem. but can I find it ? can I ?@$% i cant find it any where even done a file search. any ideas ? |
Keefer, Its poduced and distributed by Computer Associates also known simply as CA, have a look in Program files for a CA or Computer Associates folder as its likely in there ..... |
I'm using a free AV software package from AVG, it works fine and was recommended to me by a PC bod. Looks like you've already got AV software running and the new one is in conflict with it. Probably have to turn off the existing one to accept the new one. |

its just a upgrade but it keeps throwing up the name I mentioned above ? |
You might have removed the CA software in the past but some trace of it still remains - u might need a dedicate uninstaller prog or registery cleaner. As long as your new AV s/w runs ok - I dont think youd need to worry too much. Just do a FULL backup and make sure system restore is turned on ;) Frank |
I cant install the A/V software because of that program |
