have a look in the tool kit

There should be the right tool in the bike tool kit, if not I think you need a T7 torx drive which you may be able to pick up from local car or tool shop. The bolts are only ally and using a normal allen key will F*** em up.

Best to do with top fairing off, but, you may be able to do it with the fairing on the bike if you non of the well nuts spin or drop out :(

it's a torx head, a T7 i think. I got mine as part of a set at halfords.
there was not one in my toolkit

Yep Torx T7.
If its an '03/04 bike its easier to do the job by removing the fairing nose cone first. The two wellnuts either side of the clocks are a beeatch to reach. The bottom one can be accessed via the headlight hole.

Getting it off is easy.
Its threading the indicator wires back through to the connectors that is tricky!

JAS749 19-Feb-2006 18:22

tell me if this sounds silly keefy but i was thinking of using poxy resin or something similar to hold them to nuts in place...saves taking the front off i guess???
