swapping pump and tank any tips to ensure fuel pump fitted correctly and no probelms with o ring? cheers |
Make sure tank surface is clean, I usually use a bit of scotchbrite and then I coat the O-ring in Vacuum grease which is a lot like petroleum jelly |
Yup, i use vaseline. The trick is to use 3 bolts of the same thread as the holes and screw in the bolts 1/4 of a turn at a time in a clockwise direction.... This should ensure it doesn't snag anywhere. |
I'd go with the above, but always ALWAYS have a spare o-ring just in case, they're only something like £7 plus they do stretch over time so there's only a number of times befor eyou'll end up snagging it anyway. It does take some force getting the thing back in also. |
cheers guys, been into m/rapido today and martin gave me a blow by blow (!!) expalnation, seems I was mis-understanding where the o ring was so no mistakes this time!! |
