Numbers What size do the numbers have to be and are there any limitations on the font that can be used. murray |
its laid down in the rules somewhere. they are very specific in terms of size and even the correct colour to use, but in reality they let most things through scruitineering. see my avatar for my 2006 numbers. |
no doubt Skids will have his rule book to hand for you Murray, but I have heard that scrutineers will be looking a bit more closely at numbers to ensure they conform to regs. Last year there were quite a few (not in DD tho) who were running some 'odd' fonts which upset race control (not just NE, but bemsee too). Hence the reminder to checl all bikes... Dickie, might be worth taking some standard ones with you mate? C [Edited on 28-2-2006 by AK and CK] |
Btw Dickie, are you sure the flames on your number boards are going in the good direction?... Or maybe you expect to race with windy conditions  Tonio - aka slower than me you must be reversing  |
Boys, read your 2006 DD rules: The sizes for all the front numbers are: Minimum height: 160 mm Minimum width: 80 mm Minimum stroke: 25 mm The size for all the side numbers is: Minimum height: 120 mm Minimum width: 60 mm Minimum stroke: 25 mm The allocated number for the rider must appear three times on the machine. The number on the front may be affixed only once, either in the centre of the fairing or to one side. The two side numbers must be located on the left and right side of the seat or the fairing. The numbers must be visible to spectators and officials from both sides of the track. For light coloured bodywork, there will be a black line of 8 mm minimum all around the perimeter of the white background. C :) |
