Rebound Damper Adjustment Screw Knackered

I wanted to soften up the damping a bit as the 748 is leaping all over the place on the cart tracks that pass for roads round here.

In doing so, I discovered that the rebound damping adjustment screw is just turning round and round and can be pushed in and out by a couple of mm. It's a Showa shock BTW

I've been out and about and the bike still seems to ride ok

Any quick fixes or do I need a new unit?

Thanks as always.

It rebuildable - might be worth trying MC Technics down in Suffolk to see what they can do.

thanks - i'll call them later on.

do you have a rough idea of price? i've seen ohlins units go on ebay for a couple of hundred quid, so i might be just as well to buy one of those rather than rebuilding the old one which will no doubt involve the bike being off the road for a week or 2 while the unit is in the shop :eureka:

I meant it might be rebuildable. No idea of the price. You just me selling a brand new Showa unit from a 748s. If the buyer lets me down I'll let you know.
