Exhaust pinging/creaking On my S4r after stopping the exhaust pings/creaks alot when cooling. Never had this on any bikes before. Is it due to being to rigid? I read some where its a sign of cheap steel being used? I have an Akrapovic slip on and Dp cat removal pipes:D |
one of the best sounds you can get in my opinion..........sounds like its running well! |
Its when the engine is turned off I mean:o why does the sound mean its running well? |
My 999 does it mate, Its just hot metal cooling down. I like to think its my bike talking to me and thanking me for a nice ride. (I need to get out more):biaggi: |
Steel contracts as it cools down, hence the pinging. I love that sound as well. |
Cool its an ok sound :lol Just never had it that loud on any bike before:):) |
Stainless 'creaks' a lot more than mild steel so its perfectly normal. My car started doing the same thing when I fitted a stainless system. Keith |
I love that sound it always happens after a good ride! |
Its a good thing honest. Mean your riding it more than cleaning it. (Love that sound too) |
Quite normal, particularly if you've been feeding it plenty of gas :-))) |
