The World\'s Fastest Indian

An excellent bike film for anyone who has not yet seen it - The world's fastest Indian.

Saw it last night and what a truly amazing story, Anthony Hopkins was brilliant in the role of Burt Munro, the Kiwi who raced an old Indian at Bonneville Salt Flats in the 60's.

Thanks for the reminder - I'd like to go and see that :)

Another vote for a brilliant film about a bike and what it took to ride it.

Anothony Hopkins was so good in the role that when Burt Monroe's kids turned up on set they burst into tears 'cos the portrayal was so accurate.

I heard his kiwi accent was a bit rubbish.

Fush and chups anyone?

Jools 16-Mar-2006 12:50

I would like to see that as well, don't think Mrs Jools would be too keen though.

Which begs another question. How many 'chick flicks' and weepies does a man have to sit through before he gets a chance to see a film that interests him? Is there a scientific ratio? I'm begining to think that it's close to infinity.

mrs jools might like it after all........ it has a bike theme, but is more about "living a dream" i guess, and has some really funny bits and some weepy bits too.Anthony Hopkins does a fair kiwi impersonation i think he played it really well - after all he is welsh so there are certain parallels.......sheep/rugby ummmm what else oh yeah feesh and cheeeps.

Now do you have malt vinegar on the chips or tomato sauce ... I think the key lies there :D

And Jools, there is no ratio mate. She is just making it up as she goes along .. they all do. You need drastic steps to take back control of your movie going.

Deffo want to see this. Saw a 'making of' type programme on digital sunday and looked excellent.

Looks even better from the trailer (apart from the accent):
