bogging under load Well, my bike (600ss) has been running well - nothing heavy - just until i took it to the dealer to get the head torque checked and give the work i did a quick once over. That day was *supposed* to be today. i should have been leaving to go there now in fact. On saturday i was out running some errands and after a 5 or 6 mile ride, on the approach back to my house i pulled away from a junction and the bike just bogged out. It will start ok, tick over ok, rev ok, until you go to pull away. As soon as you put any load on the engine it bogs out. Theres no oil leaks or blows that i can visibly see coming from anywhere. aside from a small blow on the can (which it always had) Any thoughts/ideas why it could be bogging out? Im guessing maybe the head might be blowing (incorrectly torqued down)? Thanks in advance Cy |
Glad it all went together ok. Have you checked the plugs ? You can get unlucky and have one that fires ok until its under load, when life gets much harder for it, and it doesnt fire any more. Alternative is something like a dodgy connection on the plug cap, or a dodgy earth on the coil. If the head is blowing it generally sounds like the bike is having an almighty fart, and you can see the staining between the barrel and the head. |
Carb setup? Fuel hose trapped? Fuel tank vent hose trapped? Water in tank / carbs? |
That might add up, as on that ride it was kind of a mare to start - similar to how it felt with fouled plugs. i will investigate - thanks again Phil. Cy |
Hiya Just replaced the plugs and runs pretty good now. no bogging down. Thanks again for your help guys. You rock. Cy |
