Front wheel bearings

Hello,

Just out of intrest are these the sort of items best bought from a Ducati dealer.

The reason I ask there are more than a few places that make wheel bearings,

Just get the correct bearing details and order them from a reputable supplier.

I`ve done this many times and had no problems, I even used to have to order oil seals regularly for my 750 sport rev counter drive that wore them out frequently, again no problems.

Nah, there is a bearing code used by all manufacturers that denotes the type and size of bearing. All you need to do is take the bearing code to any bearing factor and get some SKF, Timken or Steyr and they'll be top quality - and only cost you about £9 each.

All you need to avoid are the cheap pattern bearings from China - I put some in the rear wheel of my ST once (£6 each) and they lasted three months

Last time I bought some (couple of years ago) they were only about 8 quid each from Ducati, IIRC.

Worth a phone call to check the price. I'd say, if they ask more than a tenner, time to investigate the code number and buy from a bearing factor. Cheaper than that, why bother?

Depends how near you are to dealer/bearing factor, of course, too.
