600ss

Hi,

Hopefully not a silly question but can anyone give me an idea of what an R reg 600ss, with accident damage, with nearly 17000 miles on the clock with nothing in the service book since 1998 and no way of knowing whether any servicing was done to it recently or since 98, needing a new seat covering possibly the whole seat, smashed front headlight, split and damaged front and side fairing, smashed indicator, smashed mirror and internals (casing still intact), missing front brake lever, badly bent rear brake lever, an exhaust which has taken a knock but not too bad but I think the bracket might be bent. This is all I actually saw without taking bits off the bike to have a closer look...phew...would/should sell for?

In fact maybe the question should be what would an undamaged one sell for?

Any info would be great.

Cheers

Franco

The ones that I've seen - and that's not many can sell for between 600 and 2000. This one seems to be at the lower end of the range ;)

I would think that the damage would write it off.
Not really that up on 600ss's but i think i've seen mintish ones on ebay for around £1000-£1200.

Fastfasulli 08-Apr-2006 19:56

Ok the answer is: yes it is a write off and I have been asked for £900.

Griff 64 08-Apr-2006 20:03

Franco my bike was £950 of ebay.Import but in very good condition and some service history

That sounds way to dear..Walk away methinks

antonye 08-Apr-2006 20:08

£600 at most for that.

If you do need parts, I've got everything you need for it!

rockhopper 08-Apr-2006 20:29

£900 is way too much if its written off! Ants £600 sounds closer to the mark.

any monster or ss over 6 years old which is crashed or non runner i wont offer more than £500 as not worth putting back together if paying more. as griff says you can get runners for 900 to 1200 in good cond with service history too.
walk away franco it could be more trouble then you think

AK 08-Apr-2006 20:41

to add that we brought the snot the 583 monster in jan 2005 for under £1000 and that was a 2001 reg bike.
high mileage as in 18000 and missed the last service but ran fine and passed an mot 2 days after we got her. now in 2nd year of racing.

Im really no expert, but id say its too much at 900.
Mine was about a grand and also is an R plate, but with 24k, 5 years history, full mot and in very good condition.

My 2 pennneth worth
