Front wheel spindle very tight?

Whilst I was removing my wheels to get tyres changed, I noticed the front wheel spindle was quite hard to remove & replace.
Anybody else come across that?

all the time, they go out of shape very easily and the holes that the screwdriver goes through to adjust the compression get elongated. You sometimes have to tap them out, pretty hard.

Don't overtighten the fork pinch bolts. They are only 19Nm, i've needed the 1/2" wrench on some of them followed by a big drift and hammer.

Thanks khushy, but the spindle isn't as tight as I am! ;)

It wasn't too hard to get out....just harder than I thought it should be.

I've always tightened the pinch bolts using a good quality torque wrench, but it has had a tyre change that I didn't take the wheels off myself

use loads of grease - you will be surprised at the difference it makes!

Also found the inside of the spindle hole on the left leg roughed up before, where someone has tried to tap the spindle through without aligning the fork leg properly, ever since i have had a Ducati I have been using an alignment tool that I had noticed club racers using when I was at meetings prior to me owning a Ducati
