Theory test??

I passsed my bike and theory test in 98' :D:D

Now im learning to drive again, i did so for the first time 3/4 yrs ago but didnt finish due to commitments. Then I was told my theory test would be valid still.

Now im being told that it is only valid for 2 yrs??

Surely if i have been in bike for 8years its a bit late now for a theory test :lol::lol:

Somone else told me i passed before the 2yr limit was introduced, anyone had any experience of this?

How about if you go from car to bike? do u need to do theory again???

from car to bike is yes, you do have to take a new theory test. Its harder if you are used to riding as the hazard perception test knocks points off for spotting hazards too early, just avoiding the idiots out there on the roads on a bike or pedal bike means you'll be very well aware of hazards early and could end up failing :puzzled:

Got this reply from the DSA after the 10 days they said it would take lol,

So confirms im ok!!! Just booked test for June 8th eeeek!

Dear Lee

Thank you for your e-mail of 31 March about your needing to take the theory test again.

I can confirm that if you hold a full category A licence which was issued before 01/02/01 and now want to gain category B, B1 will show on your licence and a theory test will not be required.

If your licence was issued after 01/02/01 you will need to take the theory test.

I hope this information has been of some help to you.

Yours sincerely

Ms D Lee
