Rear caliper hose / bleed point question.

My 93 900ss has the 'right-way' up goldline rear caliper.

After removing it for a quick strip down I noticed that the bleed nipple was mounted towards the center the bike (the hose banjo bolt is in front of bleed bolt). Looking at pics of other bikes - I see this appears to be the standard arrangement.

SO...I think it would be better to have the bleed bolt closer to the outside to make bleeding easier. The bolt threads appear to be the same - will it make any difference which holes the bleed and banjo bolts are fitted ???

I guess the 'pressure' will feed through the caliper in the opposite direction but since it must reach both pistons anyway, does it make a difference.

Cheers - Fingers Franko

Taa Daa - even found a pic...good old Yoyodyne

and yep - bleed nipple is at the rear.

Nah...the bleed nipple and banjo bolt are definitely interchangeable.

Don't worry about whether the fluid goes through one way or t'other....the rear brake will still be pretty feeble either way

True...I only use the 'bleedin' thing for hill-starts anyways.

But, might as well get it working as well as possible and as I like it while its in bits.

Frank
