Stupid Qn 2. (rear hugger fitting)

Bought this here hugger on ebay for the Ex's bike. Went over to fit it last night and had major issues.

Looking at the left hand side. It's drilled in the correct place for where the 'brake line runner' goes... and drilled in the correct place where the mount for the sprocket end on swing arm goes... So that's all good....

however on my carbon one, it mounts on the back of swingarm too. Just below shock and pretty much directly below where the 'brake line runner' screw is....

But i'm missing this on the FG hugger. Is there a bracket i can get or are me and the lads going to have to knock one up and pop rivet it on ?

It's an optional mount point, if you find it's not stable enough.

Best thing is to fit it first and see if it needs securing more. Some do, some don't. If it does need it, drill and tap the swing arm and use a suitable bolt.

The hole on the swingarm is there.... there's no mount for it on the hugger though.

So the hugger is only secured by 1 bolt by the sprocket ?

Hello weeksy2

if you do decided to use this bolt, be careful its a bit tight, (between the hugger and the swinging arm)
easy to miss thread the nut.

sounds like you will need to makeup a small L piece and rivet it on to the hugger.

regards

Then drill a hole in the hugger!

Am i being dense or are you ?

there's no hugger where the hole is :rodent:

it's a piece off the side on my carbon on....

Topi seems right and pretty much as we suspected... have to make up an L bracket and get it pop riveted.
