Fitting Termi ECU.....

Gonna attempt to fit the ECU tomorrow for my Termi asymetrics.

Thanks to Adrian Groves i have a great idea of where it is now and how to get to it,but what i wondered was do i disconnect the battery, and if so how does this affect my Datatool alarm?

Does it need programming with codes or any such thing,or will it go off if disconnected etc...

Cheers.

Just set the alarm to 'service mode'.You should then be able to disconnect the bikes battery without any problems.

Dont forget to look for the small earth lead that comes out of it.........whilst your standing on your head!

Also dont forget the TPS needs setting on a new CPU with the diagnostic kit

Thats something the dealer does/can do though isnt it?

Due its first service so figured that could be done then.

Yes dealer will do that for you -just dont expect it to run that well until then

I always struggle to see why people say the TPS needs setting up, correct me if i am wrong the TPS in reality should only require setting up once unless the milli volt feedback signal drifts. ie on closed throttle (with throttle stops wound back) the input to the ECU will be about 150mv this should not alter if a new exhaust is fitted.

So what changes? I guess with improved exhaust gass flow through the new less restrictive exhaust this will alter the vacume between the two cyclinders and therefore the CO between them.

So what needs to be done I guess is check the vacume and balance this in theory should also balance the CO but this also should be checked Guessing now but the CO should be about 3% but it will run better set to between 5 - 6%.

When thats done the idle can be re-adjusted maybe slightly higher to 1200 - 1300rpm.

Not sure if I'm completely correct maybe somebody can add comment.

Regards

On the newer models with CAN line -when CPU-wiring loom or throttle bodies are changed for new ones the TPS has to be reset /stored in memory-there is no mechanical adjustment of TPS on these models
