the biggest thing in DD right now............

RESPECT.

after the best round ever and one of the best biking weekends ive had, the thing that has really struck me is how much respect all the DD riders/team owners have for each other.

for their riding skill
for their sheer guts to get out there
for their committment to get back out after an off
for their total determination to do 'their' best.

many of us were chatting and commenting that if DD folded we would be unlikely to race in another series.

the 'family' feeling is that strong and im glad to be part of it.

Couple of questions then.....

*gets ready for the abuse....

Should you REALLY respect and like one another THAT much ?
Why would you not race in any other series ?
Do you feel you as a group are a little 'insular' in the paddock ?
Don't you think you're missing out in a lot of ways in not mixing so much with the rest of New Era. ?
How do you think a rider who finished 10th for example (i have no idea who that was by the way) would do in a Novice 600 race with BEMSEE on a bike of their choice... (no, not a 1000cc :) )

YES :)

Because I wouldn't be racing a small and cheap Ducati in a series organised by a friendly Ducati Club. It's all what matters to me.

NO :D
I've got so many things to learn from the DDers and DSCers, that's more than enough to me. Furthermore I can't really appreciate a bike when it's not written Ducati on it, don't you say love makes you blind in English? (we do in French) ;)

Who cares?

That series is brilliant and nobody will make me think the opposite. That's about the bikes I like with the people I like. What else may I want? More sunny rounds

yes when in the paddock why not? on the track everyone gives 100% and does everything to get one place higher up there is no quarter given in the racing thats for sure.

for me the DD paddock atmosphere makes the series and it would be a massive come down. to know a cuple of dozen people really well and know they would all helpyou is a great feeling

not really, im sure most individual series stick together to a certain extent, its only natural whendiscussing your own races etc

Don't you think you're missing out in a lot of ways in not mixing so much with the rest of New Era. ?

not too much, race days are by their nature quite frantic affairs so there is not too much spare time anyway. i dont always get time to see all the DD'ers let alone anyone else.

10th that'll be me again. very difficult to say but i would say the standard of racing in DD is actually quite high and getting better all the time. im sure anyone watching at assen wouldn't have thought most out there were still novice racers.
