When buying a 999 What problems if any do I need to look for when buying a 999? I've heard about warrenty work being done! :puzzled: |
999 recalls. Early 999's were recalled for the oil cooler to be checked. Some coolers made by KTM were found to be faulty.Later KTM and Toyo coolers were ok.The only other recall, that I recall(!) was for a clip to be fitted around the r/h fork leg to keep the brake hose away from the steering lock stops. Should take a dealer 30secs to check if it has been done. |
Hmmmmmmmmm When buying a 999................... DONT.....TURN AND WALK AWAY. |
Ouch! That's harsh. I have to say I kinda quite liked the look of this on EBay: I've no idea if the price is reasonable though and if what I hear is true, that a 999R can be had for a little over 10k, I might be tempted. Still prefer a 998R though ;) |
Ah,999S,...awesome bikes.:D Marko has one of the Mono Nero's,...bloody beautiful. |
now that's tasty! |
if it's second-hand make sure it has a set of term's as you will want then and there expensive, much better if you get them with the bike, :burn::burn: |
I have a 999s 05 Mono - its a lovely bike - go for it - dont listen to those old-fashioned numpties!!!! :frog: |

Yes it is a fabulous looking bike. I followed it around on Sunday's ride out and jeez does that thing have some grunt. I would be right on it's tail coming out of corners and Marko would just get on the gas...all I could hear was a glorious crisp, metallic bark from the termis and then watch those termis pull away from me as the back tyre dug in for some serious drive. If I'd got the revs up around 7K where my lovely little 888 starts to fly then I could hang on to him, but if I tried to let my bike lug out of corners from 4-5K then Marko would be gone.... So now all I want is a T8 with that much power and I'd have my dream bike  |
