Replacing clutch basket and plates

The gear shifting on my 748 is ok, but when I took off the clutch cover to have a look I noticed that the outer plate was rather notched and the clutch basket is too. Should I leave it until gear shifting becomes hard or do I do it now ?

The reason I ask is that I don't want to incur unecessary expense.

Thanks

The wear (knotching) on the plates won't make any differance to you gear changes, that will be done to poor pressure in your master or slave cylinders due to faults related to that. The more knotching, the more noise, you either live with it or you change em. One things for sure within a few hundred miles the noise will be back, is a dry clutch fernominum. 4D

Will this also affect the low speed chatter that these bikes suffer with ?

Thanks
