Loud pipes and Switzerland

Has anyone out there had any experience in trying to cross the Swiss border with loud pipes ? My 748 has 45mm Termi's marked "Not for Road Use"; I wish to ride through Switzerland on the route from Turkey to London but I am concerned that the Swiss may ban access if they think the exhaust note is too fruity.

Is this a real danger or an urban myth ?

Urban myth, although the local police can get a bit feisty if you're obviously making a mockery of the law! To give you an idea, when living there I had a friend with a TVR cerbie with a full-race exhaust that only got both a couple of times in three years, and there's no shortage of Dukes with Termis!

I live here and have Termis on a 998s
I have a race exhaust on a Buell ... and that is very loud !
There a hundreds of HDs with slash cut pipes ......

The swiss police will probably not hassle you, but don't take the **** in build up areas, (keep revs down) and do buy a autobahn vingette.
Do not speed in tunnels - radar traps
If you chosse tp speed on autobahns keep it to 20 kph over .... it's cheaper
If you speed in build up areas, the fines are impressive. And they can impound bikes.

However the Swiss aren't to0 Turk friendly at the moment, after the World Cup qualifiers .....

Thanks chaps; that has put my mind at rest.

However the Swiss aren't to0 Turk friendly at the moment, after the World Cup qualifiers ..... ....tell me about it ! I am a Brit masquerading as a Turk and whenever I try and cross the border (in/on my other Turkish registered vehicles) I get such grief.....actually the same is true at the Greek, Italian and French borders....and at the Chunnel
