I need to buy a Sat Nav for the wifes car and my ST4 I think we have narrowed it down to

Garmin Quest 2
Tom Tom Rider
Garmin 2610

I would be grateful for any feedback on installation/reliabilty/ease of use or negative points and recommendations for mounting

Can not comment on the models listed, but, I do have a Tom Tom 300 and it's great. I drive around 28,000 mile a year and in 9 months it's been wrong twice.

Also go to pocketgps and download the free map with speed camera locations, you can set the camera locations as point of interest and have the Tom Tom let you know when you are 500yd away from the selected point of interest, will give visual and audable warning :)

Have the Tom Tom 300, and can't fault it, would have bought the Rider had it been out at the time, I would need a top box for the 300 on the bike:D

Have you looked the othe Garmins ie 27xx and the new 2820? I've got a garmin GPSMAP276c which I cant fault but the newer 27+ models can now give audible and visible speedcamera alerts. plus other funky stuff (2820 is bluetooth thingied)
Plus they tend to be robust and waterproof (if a little expensive)

I'm told by a friend that the Road Angel is pretty good, and includes the positions of the fixed gatso's as well. Did us proud ona trip down to Nice earlier this year, but that's the only experience I have of it to be honest.

I've got a TomTom 500 - excellent bit of kit, and the pocketgps POI is good also. Not free any more, but a lot cheaper than TomTom's offering. I think that the TT Rider is functionally similar to the car systems, just waterproof and vibration proof.

If you've got a PDA, I think TomTom software for that is pretty good as well, and you could put the PDA in a map bag on the tank. You probably wouldn't get the voice instructions though, as I think most PDAs only cope with one Bluetooth device at a time (and I doubt you'd want a wired GPS receiver).

Bought a 2610 as an upgrade from a Streetpilot. No issues at all. Top gear from Garmin. Will consider an upgrade next year too.

Bought a Quest II the other day, has all of europe loaded on it, can make some of the calculations a bit slow, but so far has worked fine.

Think there is a small test in last months bike mag in the 'Really' useful section.
