Overheating on 998

Hi

Wonder if someone can help. Went for a great ride at the weekend although noticed that the temperature would shoot up to 120 whenever I stopped in traffic for longer than a few minutes. It dropped again immediately I rode off.

Should there be a fan cutting in ?

Thanks

Marcus

Mine runs hot especially when stood waiting at traffic lights.
The fans are controlled by the ECU and one should come in before the other. But they do seem to come in a bit late as if somebody told the programmers the UK is a bit on the cold side.

i've got a 748 and had a problem with the fuses for the fan (only 1 on the 748) - the shop told me to switch off the engine if it went up to 100 degrees.....

Not sure what your problem may be - check the fuse for the fan as if that is blown then the fans won't come on!?
