Black or Gold wheels I was thinking of having my 748 wheels painted black. What do people prefer. Black or Gold. I would do the frame, but that looks like a lot of work taking the bike apart |
I have a black bike with gold wheels (proper gold too and not that funny greeny bronze that Ducati painted the frame with) and on the rare occasions they aren't covered in chain lube and brake dust they look absolutely magic. I don't like black wheels at all, or for that matter carbon front mudguards on yellow or red Ducatis. IMHO, they are too much of a contrast and make the bike look clumsy. Funnily though, I don't mind black wheels on Jap bikes. ........I won't wear black trainers either. :D |
Satin black..... Taking the frame out isn't that bad:) |
Some time ago I painted my old 916 wheels with halfrauds gold alloy wheel aerosols as the original paint fell off. I didnt do too bad a job, run and blemish free but it still looked naff , wrong shade. I soon wished I'd painted them black instead. |
Have metalic black wheels on mine - they sparkle in the sun and catch the eye! You're forever cleaning gold ones (although a gloss metalic gold......mmmmmm) Moley :rodent: |
