Bad day
 

I don't really believe in fate... but sometimes you just got to wonder if "someone" is trying to tell you something……

Take today. Woke up early... lovely sunshine, so decide to take a spin to the coast with the missus.

I spent yesterday fitting my new exhaust, so a good chance to see if any leaks etc.

Got all togged up, get the bike out, it started 1st time (always has)...rode it to the front of the house then went in to get the missus.

Came out and the bike won't start. Not a peep. Not even a cough and splutter. Flick the kill switch on/off a few times (just in case). Nope. Still dead.

Wheeled the bike back in to the garden to take a look. Spark plugs out. They look OK.

Plugs back in. Still no start.

Check fuses, then lift tank to check coils. As I lower the tank I catch the indicator switch and snap it clean off.

As I bend down to pick up the broken part of the indicator switch I notice an oil leak. Oil is dripping onto the patio.

Get on my knees and see that the oil filter has been hit by something and is dented. A small crease is causing the leak.

Dismantle the indicator switch and carry out a temporary fix.

Drain the oil and change the filter.

More in hope than expectation I press the starter and it fires up straight away...... WTF?

Put fairings back on......... just as a torrential downpour starts.

At this point I decide that I just wasn't meant to go out today. If I did, I'd probably come to a sticky end.

Put the bike away and went in to watch telly.

sounds like a classic case of things happenning in three's.
indicator switch, oil leak and then the rain, better luck next week mate.

Unlucky, mate, but definitely look it at it as a case of you were not meant to go out today!

At least the bike was still there after you went to fetch your missus!

And at least your missus was still there! :roll:
