My beautiful 888 for sale. (Fixed the photo links..!) Hi guys I've been trying for long enough now to find somewhere to store my lovely 888 Strada, but with no luck. So, the day has come when it just has to go. I had links here to a couple of very large (5mb) photos, but they didn't work! Here's a couple which should be ok. They're each approx. 1.5mb. http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/1...8upload9pr.jpg http://img490.imageshack.us/img490/5...upload24jr.jpg Asking price and more details here: http://ducati888.mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/ Bugger. Sorry to hear that mate, how much are you looking for?? Regards Peter |
Just checked out the photos Steve, and she is SO Gorgeous. Mind you, so is the SP4. A sad day indeed. How different is she to ride than the SP4 ? |
Daft idea maybe, but if you really dont want to sell. Why not see if a motorcycle dealer could store it on display (out of reach, hopefully). Shame to see a great bike soldwhenyou dont really want to. Ideas anyone??? ? ? |

The picture links in my post above work now guys. Decent sized pics can now be seen. Ain't technology wunnerful..? DucatiRoss - The Strada feels a good deal slower steering than the SP4. I suspect a lot of this has got to do with its tyres though. Strada's a good deal heavier too - and somehow feels larger - but has more bottom end response. It's much more civilised around town also, since its bottom gear is more sensible and the fuel metering isn't so wild. Injection on the Strada is spot-on: it ticks-over like a swiss watch. There's far less 'snarling' with the Strada on the over-run too, whereas the SP4 spits and bellows the whole time. SP4 is more 'revvy' on the motorway due to its lower top gear. Strada just cruises along. They feel like completely different bikes. Frank/TWPD - I've asked around locally, but no joy. I have had more than one offer from people who've read my posts to take the bike in, but none of them live close by. It'd bug me something terrible if I didn't have access. Moreover, it's taken me so long to steel myself for its sale, I don't want to 'chicken out' now! Repeat after me: "It's only a machine..! It's only a machine..!" Steve |
So the Strada seems like a great everyday bike, but the SP4 shouts 'character' everytime you ride it ? Sounds just like my SP2 - won't idle (needing plenty of blipping at lights etc - shame innit ?), very loud, very demanding, but God, what a special bike ! My 750 SS has to go now I've got the SP2, so I know how you're feeling. And stop kidding yourself - they're not 'only machines' - they live and breathe, have moods, go off in a strop then come back and knock you out. Now what other bike does that ? Me ? I'd convert a downstairs room into a bike house, or build a garage. |
weeveetwin just an idea or suggestion but is there a public lock'n'store type place near you- a relative stores his bike in one in northampton with 24hr access he says its well worth the money 100% secure etcthe only down side was that he wasnt allowed to leave the bike with petrol in it but as hes got to know the guys that run the place they turn a blind eye now- maybe worth considering mate something like thishttp://www.safestore.co.uk/about_safe_store.htm |
