I might wonder along at the last minute. I have my 1st race there next month on my 800ss racer so, I've got lots to do and some testing as well - a trackday might be helpful beforehand.

loverobot 07-Jun-2006 10:24

yes! i am going and trying out my new (to me) trackbike
number 300 blue gixxer 600 - come say hello - i have missed the last few rideouts so would be good to meet you

my first time in inters so i am a bit nervy

btw does croft have power or do i need my genny?

Iconic944ss 07-Jun-2006 10:34

If you get there about 6am and get in one of the garages there is power, other wise there is a hook-up point right at the very end of the paddock - opposite the green bus, where the gate is to walk up to the banking - however, it is the round pin-type socket from memory.

This is also well known also and gets taken quickly due to its location.

You'll be fine in inters - I've even done it on my 900ss, just stay on line so others know what to expect, if they are that fast they will be used to going around people, hopefully safely!

Just ride at your own pace - not anyone elses.

My only other word of advise is try and find a good instructor, especially when moving up - finding a good 'un to help you out can work wonders - just ask 'em, its what you've paid for.

Might just have a drive over Friday!

Have a fun day.

LRBT,

There isn't usually a problem getting space in a garage with power. I'll be there but not at 6.00am!!! track time doesn't start until 9.30 at Croft, I've turned up at 8 to 8.30 and still not had a problem getting garage space. No gaurantees though.

Not sure if I am vanning it or riding up with Martin M.

Sure it can be a bit nerve wracking moving up a group for the first time but IMHO whatever group you are in there will be peeps faster and slower.

I'd regard myself as pretty steady inter. Sure the bike is capable of going faster but I'm not!

Look out for a 998 and me mate with a battered R1.

No sure if WJB is gonna be there but No limits have a raft of good instructors, ( and yes that does include WJB!! before anyone reads this the wrong way!!)

Looking forward to it,

Ray.

Still too early for me, Ray, I am afraid. It's looking like early August for me. The first one will be Croft, or maybe Elvington as a preliminary shakedown. Either way, you should have no problem hearing it even where you are! ;)

Alternatively, I'll be more than happy to demonstrate what the 998R can do in the fast group, especially if you put wets on!

Ray 07-Jun-2006 13:20

Felix,

Do they do bike days at Elvington or racing only? Done a few car days there and the place has a reputation for eating tyres.

The Four wheeled F1 boys got shooed off Elvington due to noise, they used to run 'em up and down the runway.

Thanks for the offer to demo the 998, I'm not sure I could afford the fee to put a pro rider on it and it ain't gonna look good when you go round faster the wet that I can in the dry either!

Let me know when the new beast is ready for its launch.

Hows the the other two thirds of 3 up getting on?

Rgds,

Ray.
