I've been in Hospital.....

All,

The kidney infection that caused me to miss CC put me in hospital for Thursday to Sunday. My kidney function had reduced to 10% and my doctor freaked when he got the blood results back and sent me to hospital where I was trapped with the 'really' sick people for days.

Things I learnt...

The NHS whilst hard working and well meaning is a shambles...

You get a lot of thinking time...

Very lucky the football has been on to relieve the boredom..

I have played fantasy DD racing in my head far to much...

Hot nurses are a figment of the adolescent imigination..

'I don't want to get old and ill and have to spend any time in hosptal', a more depressing place I'm yet to find.

I'm better now and looking forward to reminding myself of the good stuff to do with racing motorbikes..

So much so I might enter both bikes at Oulton.

Glad you're on the mend Chris.

Fully agree with your sentiments re NHS / hospitals - where on earth does all the money go? (probably management consultants and drug companies I suppose)

Chris, very good summary except you missed out about the lousy food. Glad you're out and recovering. What caused the kidney infection in the first place and did you drink lots of soda water like I told you to?

Can't agree with that 'cos my wifes an NHS nurse, and a very dedicated one too, until she herself had to stop work through developing MS.

She's also very beautiful

She worked in palliative care, helping terminally ill patients to leave this world with as much dignity and quality of life as they could muster and as little pain as possible.

I hope that if I ever need that sort of care there is someone as caring as my wife to see me out.

Anyway, 10% kidney function? You wouldn't have stood much chance without 'the shambles' that is the NHS would you. I would be grateful to them.

Oh the food....memories.

Yes Ruth, soda water, cranberry, asparagus, beetroot and potato are my new kidney friendly foods.

Cause of the infection was from the previous weeks throat infection, passed on to kidneys..nice, rare but happens.

For a physically FIT guy, I was amazed at how quickly your body goes downhill.

Looking forward to getting back on the bike and enjoying the racing.

Ta

Sorry to come across as not appreciating or being grateful, the quality of the 'people' was first rate, I am in awe of them and their skills and qualities.

My issue is with the admin / lack of communication / and other managment type functions I guess.

I saw 4 GP's prior to being admitted all who gave contradictory or misleading advice re my condition.

Yes I would be f***** without them, I worry for the people who don't make it through the system due to NHS complications.

I'm sure the nurses of the NHS calaender would be great, I just wasn't as lucky as you Jools.

Glad you've been released Chris and are on the mend.

I think you should enter both classes at Oulton, you've a lot of catching up to do and it's only right that you should race lots - it's good for you ;)

Take care fella :)
