ST4 Exhaust I squashed the bit of the exhaust pipe that goes from the front cylinder under the sump to the cross bit ! Having now fitted a Ohlins rear shock the same as fitted to the ST4S, the grounding is extremly unlikely to re-occur. I cannot believe that the squashed pipe helps performance and it certainly looks bad so if anyone has one that they no longer want or could give me the correct name/description, I would be grateful. |
I did exactly the same to my front pipe last year. I refused to pay the new price for one of these at the time. I'm still looking for a good second hand one... It doesn't seemto have affected performance, or not so you'd notice anyway :D |
You can get pipes repaired you know. I asked about how to fix a similar dent on the connecting pipe between the can and exhaust collector. Apparently, you can weld little stubs of metal to the outside of the can, use them to pull the dent out then cut them of and grind them flat. I didn't bother getting my cans done because a set of DP pipes came my way. Do a search on Mike Davis at Robsom Racing, he reckoned he could get this done so that you'd hardly know that there was a dent and not for silly money either. |
Cheers guys I have found Robsom racing at http://www.robsomracing.co.uk/ and e mailed a tentative enquiry. |
I received an e mail from Mike at Robsom racing and I will be dropping the down pipe in for "un-sqaushing" |
