Might have a job finding anyone to do it. Electricals like that are almost disposable these days.

I took mine into Jessops, they send them away, but wanted money up front for an inspection and to provide a quote for repair - ie if it wasn't worth repairing, i still had to pay for the quote.

Wish I hadn't bothered - a couple of months after getting it back something else went wrong and I bought a new one instead.

Pretty much the same experience here - took the camera into Jessops, had to pay £35 inspection fee, and then advised £160 to complete the repair.

Having had it fixed (about a year ago) its now broken again with a diffferent problem and found its only worth £200 max. So it will get thrown away - seems a ridiculous state to be in, but it really is becoming a throw away society....

Digital cameras make even 8V Ducati engines look simple!! I had a go at fixing my wifes Canon compact zoom (there was a bad connection in the USB connector). I got so far with dismantling it then lost my nerve in case I broke it. I ended up buying her a card reader!

Don't throw it away - I sold mine in it's broken condition on ebay - with a full description of what the fault was... made a decent enough price, think the buyer wanted to cannibalise it for spares, either that or he knew it was only a cheap/easy fix..

Place called Fixation in Vauxhall for digital cameras and such like.

PM me if you want me to find the number/address.
