Track beacons - lap times
 

If I buy a lap timer that works from a uk track beacon fitted at the track, does anyone know if the beacon is active on track days?

yep, they're usually switched on all the time.
No guarantee tho!

Ooohh, I'd say quite the reverse in my experience with Cadwell being the only one that is regularly on...could be totally wrong as obviously I don't try to use one being an instructor and telling you they are not allowed.

Ah, yes of course, I know they are definitely never allowed, and under no circumstances would I ever use one...ever....ever....the question was purely ou of curiosity....you understand.......!

Was working at Oulten last week (or so I was told by ermmm someone), and seem to work at most tracks...
