Temp gauge light

I don't normally ride much after dark but when I did the other evening I noticed that the temp. gauge did not light up. I assume it should and I have a blown bulb?

Most probably. You'll need to get the top fairing off to get at it though, and that means removing:

side panels
mirrors
top panel
headlight

once you've done that, you'll be able to (just!) get access to the three nuts that hold the clocks in place. Undo those and the clocks will lift out so you can replace the bulb.

Now you know why it hasn't been changed before... :D

User friendly then.

Agree with Antonye except to add that if you're lucky (I wasn't) you won't have dislodged any electrical connections and won't have to undo it all again.... Oh, and I found it easier to disconnect the speedo drive as well. I did the job once and decided that if it blew again, it could stay blown! Masterpiece of design...

It gets easier the more you do it, but yes it is a pain!

If you want to pop over to mine I'll give you a hand with it Colin?

Thanks Ant. I'll get a replacement one first. Is it a special or can I get one from Halfords?

Dunno, tbh.

Could check the Haynes Book of Lies but I can't see straight right now.

I'll try again in the morning when I'm not too drunkered.
