Is it worth the money?

As some of you might have already seen my first 900SS didn't last very long...

Still very gutted.

Seen this on E-bay....

reserve is £2700. Seems reasonable?

Waiting on a reply regarding service history condition etc.,

Looks OK - can't comment on value as I dont know the recent market at all.

Durham isnt too far from me - I might be able to take a look if you want someone to go and suss it out for you.

I think £2700 would be a pretty good price - v.low mileage, 5 spoke Marchesinis and I think Ohliins rear shock. As you say service history would be a factor.

Got one exactly the same, it looks clean and the price is good for the mileage but as duke says check the service history. They have fully adj. ohlins shock and Marchi's and by the looks of it that one has the later style swingarm - extra bracing and a bit more curvy!

If the history's good i'd seriously go and have a butchers.

Thanks for the feedback. He has replied back regarding my questions...

Thanks for your query. The bike was bought from M&S brand new and has been serviced by them. Back tyre brand new, front tyre good condition. There is a scratch on left and right brake levers.

Not quite sure what he means by a scratch on the left and right brake levers!?

M&S

And it was bought from Marks & Spencers?????

The finest range no doubt :-)

I guess he means this place...

Hopefully it just means he's caught them putting the bike away!

Just had a look, Parkers guide prices:

Original Price £ 7000 Independent Dealer £ 3860 Private Good £ 3515 Private Poor £ 2860 Part Exchange £ 3230

I'd say £2700 is an OK price.

I bought my 2002 900ss for £2500 in April 2005. It had 4.5k miles on the clock. But there was also evidence that it had suffered a low speed drop - mostly damage to an end can but also some pin holes in the fairing paint which is evidence of a respray.

This one, with only 3k miles and if it is in excellent condition, I'd say go for it at that price.
