600ss problems A friend of mine recently bought a 600ss. It has gone down on one pot - I had a quick look and the front plug was barely in - I checked for a spark but, there isn't one so, it looks like one of the ignition packs is u/s. Is there anything else that might cause similar symptoms? Does anyone have a spare packs I can borrow and/or buy? The Ducati is her dream bike so, to get it going again for her would really make her month! :D Cheers! |
why not swap the lead over? You know at least the other one is good, plus you'll be able to check the spark plug as well. |
This happend to me the other week, Luckily for me Grib, couch and Gribs dada where on hand. It turned out to be the lead from the coil had come off. What I should have said was the lead to the coil, thats the one underneath. Can come loose. It requires the battery to be removed to get at it. Its amazing what you can learn from folk. |
The pickups have also been known to come loose. Easy job to fix but you do have to pop the left case off. |
Thanks for the suggestion peeps. It's fixed...broken wire feeding the one of the coils. :) |
Glad you got it fixed, Nige - you're a star  |
I know! :) Did an oil and filter change for her too before sending her on her way. |
