Gonna change my 999(Now includes pic of new sportClassic Biposta)

Went for a ride today and finally decided the 999 is not right for my riding and my young pillion.
The roads I ride on are mainly b roads and the 999 doesn't really work at these speeds.
I'm fed up of a strained neck, aching wrists and sore hands.(plus a 4 stone kid on my back everytime I brake.
SO, I tried a KTM superduke and thought it was a great bike.
Super engine, flat bars and at the moment a good price.
Dont really want to go away from ducatiship so tried the top multistrada. I thought it was blast but it was to wide at the back for the boy.
Tried an S2r(800). We both liked apart from the lack of power, so guess if I went the monster route I'd go for an s4r or s4rs.
Decisions descisions.

PS anybody want a nice 999?

S2r 1000?

900MAN 17-Aug-2006 19:08

yes
You can get an sr2 which is the 800 or an s2r1000

Like the look of those S4Rs, you had better consult your pillion.

carefull with that last bit "anyone want a 999"

Caught between the s2r1000 monster or the 1000Multistrada.
Took the wife to the dealer and she thought the MS was too ugly but liked the monster.
Trouble is, is the monster to 'poncy'? Vs the ugliness of the MS

Might P/ex with Italian Stallion on here with his MS and think about the Motard for 2007

The Multi is a far better two-up bike than the Monster and an absolute hoot to ride solo. The Monster seat may suit your lad now but this time next year he will have grown out of it.My 9 year old daughter loves it on the back of my Multi.

Agreed, give yer missus ride on the back of a multi and monster and she'll not be bothered about its looks, its a great bike 2 up or solo. Freak rode Martin H's yesterday and couldn't believe how good it was.

A deal is nearly in place for an 'S' multistrada.
It's a black 06 bike with 1500 miles that my local ducati dealer is selling for £6995 and giving me £5250 for my 999. He will also give me super deal on any bits I want for it,i.e Termis.
Before I go for it can any of you offer your 2 cents.

1 I'd heard the riding postion can put a fair bit of strain through your lower back(not good as I've always suffered down there, actually having physio at the moment)

2 Could also look at a standard MS from Ducati Aylesbury for £6495, but then I've got to sell my bike and not support my local dealer who's been giving me the test rides

3 Is the 's' worth the extra?

4 Hold on for 2007 MS

Hellllllllllllpp

1. comfort seat is a great item, has a gel layer that is luxury.

2 / 3 - IMO the extra £500 for the S is well worth it, (far better at holding their values too) the standard ones at D.Aylesbury are a bargain but you'll always wish you'd got the S model. plus if you've been offered a fair deal on px and extras then i'd go for it. Plus supporting your local dealer means they'll be there when you need them, buy your bike from them and they'll look after you when you need service/parts/accessoris/coffee etc.!!

4. 2007 MS ??? who knows. but one things for sure, there won't be any deals on them.

good luck.
