Open air box cover Hi Guys, anybody help me with finding an open airbox cover for my 888 strada. Or maybay a standard one that can be cut/adapted. I've run it on the track with the cover completely removed, extra few bhp I guess but the intake roar is fab. Not doing any harm I hope. I'm thinking of buying some high level Sil Motor pipes - anyone fitted these, any problems? Will I need an additional fixing barcket? Also tyre pressures on the track with Pirelli Dragon Evo's. Any advice, the bike seems quite sensitive to tyre pressures with the Evo's. Thanks |
I ran 31 psi front 30psi rear cold pressures when I was using Dragon Evos on the track. If the suspension is all at standard settings you also might find that it is slow-turning and wants to run wide in medium speed corners....... HTH |
1 Attachment(s) Sil Motor pipes work/fit ok,but are very expensive for what you actually get.It was, maybe still be possible to buy them direct from Sil.Much cheaper than the prices charged here. The SP exhausts in pic came from fleabay, cheaply enough.Worth keeping an eye out(excluding the ones recently on for £800 odd). |
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DUCATI-851-888...QQcmdZViewItem I thought I'd seen one on eBay recently Rgds, Rob P.S. Welcome to the best section of the board :-) Am I biased? |

I think MotoRapido have some brandnew high-level Microns which will fit straight onto the standard manifolds. I used Microns on my race 888 and they seemed good value for money.... |
Funnily enough I just bought one of those factory racing frames from Gianni Corse on ebay. It's a handy little part albeit 25 quid for a square strip of metal, but it saves cutting the lid or worse Heath Robinson style filter holding devices! |
If you are looking for other exhaust, I have a full skorpion system for sale. So the carbon cans with a spaghettti collector, 50 mm. |
